Read on my website – Read Time: 5 Minutes

Need a farm logo but don’t want to spend money on a designer? Good news—you can make one for FREE using Canva.

Canva is an online website that allows you to create logos, images, e-books, you name it. The logos look great, and best of all, it won’t cost you a dime.

You can do this in 10 minutes, but take your time and find the right fonts and design that fit your farm.

Canva has a Pro version (~$120/year), but you don’t need that. The free version works just fine.

How to Make Your Farm Logo for Free:

1. Sign Up for Canva

Go to Canva.com and create a free account.

2. Pick a Logo Template

  • Click ‘Create a Design’ (Big purple button on the left).
  • Search for ‘Logo’ in the search bar.
  • Browse the templates. Try search terms like ‘farm,’ ‘rustic,’ or ‘organic’ to find one that fits your farm’s style.

    • Note: The little crowns on the photos mean you need the Pro version. Avoid those as there are tons of free options, just keep scrolling.

3. Add Your Farm Name

  • Click on the template you like—it will open in the design area.
  • Click on the text to change it to your farm name. You can delete or edit other text as needed.
  • Keep the font clean and easy to read—nothing too fancy.
  • A menu will appear above the text. You can change the font to something that fits your farm’s personality.

4. Add Farm Graphics (Optional)

  • Click ‘Elements’ on the left.
  • Search for farm-related icons (barn, cow, chicken, tractor, etc.).
  • Stick to one or two simple images to keep it clean.

👉 Example: We’ve designed all of our logos using Canva (Homegrown Hosting, Longbottom Farm, and The Part-Time Farmer)

5. Choose Your Colors

  • Pick colors that match your farm’s brand. Earthy greens, browns, and natural tones work well.
  • Click on any part of the design to change its color.

6. Download Your Logo

  • Click ‘Share’‘Download’
  • Choose PNG for high quality. If you want a transparent background, you’ll need Canva Pro, but a white background works for most things.

Quick Tip:

Keep your logo square or horizontal. Long, vertical logos don’t fit well on websites, social media, or signs.

That’s it! You now have a simple, clean farm logo—for free.

If you make one, send it my way. I’d love to see what you come up with!

P.S. If you want a custom logo, I do offer logo design through Homegrown Hosting. But if free works for you, go ahead and try Canva—and save that design money for an awesome farm website instead.

with my appreciation,

Jason
