1. Getting Started

What is Homegrown Hosting, and who is it for?

Homegrown Hosting provides custom website design and hosting specifically for small farms and rural businesses. We make it easy to get a professional website up and running without the hassle of DIY builders or complicated tech.

How do I sign up for a website?

Getting started is easy! Visit our Get Started page, where you’ll see a demo site, watch an overview video, and fill out a quick questionnaire. There’s no commitment—just a way for us to see how we can best help you.

Do I need to have a domain name before signing up?

No! If you don’t have a domain yet, we can help you choose and register one. We recommend NameCheap as they’re easy and reliable.  If you already have a domain, we’ll connect it to your new website.  

Can I see a demo of the website before committing?

Yes! Our demo sites (click here) give you a preview of what your website will look like. We’ve designed it with proven strategies to drive sales and engagement. When you sign up, we’ll customize it with your branding, images, content, and more fit your farm and make it yours!

What is included in the base website package?

The base package includes a homepage, about page, farm store, newsletter / blog, and contact form. You can add additional features email marketing integration (with one button blogging), event pages, calenders, and more. Check out our full pricing and add-on options on our website packages page.

Is the website mine once I purchase it?

Yes! Your website is 100% yours. If you ever decide to leave, we’ll package it up into a zipped file so you can host it yourself or move it to another WordPress hosting service—no hidden fees, no restrictions. You paid for it, it’s yours!  That said, we think you’ll like it here!

Do you have a refund policy?

Monthly hosting fees are non-refundable, but you can change your plan at any time. When we start building your site, we’ll first present you with a homepage. We’ll revise it as many times as needed to make sure it’s exactly what you want. If you’re not satisfied at this stage, we’ll refund 50% of the initial cost—no worries. Once you approve the homepage, we begin building the rest of your site, and no refunds are offered beyond that point.

2. Website Design & Customization

Can I customize the website design?

Yes! Your website is custom-tailored with your colors, logo, fonts, and photos to match your brand. While the core structure remains the same — because every section is strategically designed to convert visitors into customers — we customize the look and feel to make the site uniquely yours. These are not cookie-cutter templates; they’re professionally built websites crafted to drive real results.

What pages are included in my website?

The core website includes a homepage, about page, farm store, blog / newsletter page, and contact page.  The Farm store includes 4 additional pages (i.e. beef, pork, brassicas, flowers).  Additional pages like a extra enterprises, events, calanders, FAQ, and more are available as add-ons.

Do you offer logo design and branding help?

Yes! We offer a Basic Farm Logo Design for $499. If you already have a logo, we’ll integrate it into your website at no extra cost.

What integrations are included (email, social media, etc.)?

Every website build includes social media links. If you’d like to capture emails and grow your list, we offer an Email Integration Package for $249 (Highly recommended). This includes setting up email sign-up forms and pop-ups, auto email –> blog feature, plus a full walkthrough of the system so you can manage it with confidence.

For automated email marketing—like welcome emails and newsletters—we also offer Kit integration as an add-on.

3. Hosting, Maintenance & Support

What is included in the hosting plans?

Our hosting includes site security, regular updates, daily backups, and personalized support.

We offer two plans to fit your farm’s needs: the Farm Essentials Plan at $99/month and the Farm Growth+ Plan at $249/month.

The Growth+ Plan includes everything in Essentials, plus a monthly 1-hour marketing or strategy consultation and a professionally written blog newsletter that’s sent to your email list and posted to your website — helping you stay connected with your customers and grow your brand.

Do you handle site security and updates?

Yes! We take care of software updates, security patches, and backups so you don’t have to worry about your site’s safety.

How do I request website changes or support?

For small updates, just email us! If you need larger changes, we offer support packages that include custom work each month.

What happens if my website goes down?

Our hosting includes uptime monitoring. If there’s an issue, we’re notified immediately and work to fix it.

Do you offer backups and site recovery?

Yes! We back up your site regularly and can restore it if anything goes wrong.

Can I change my plan?

Yes, you can change your plan at any time—no contracts or commitments. If you downgrade, you’ll keep access to your current plan until the end of your paid period (no refunds for downgrades). If you upgrade, a prorated difference will be charged so you can start enjoying the new features right away.

4. Marketing & Growth

Do you offer SEO services?

Yes! We provide SEO optimization to help your site rank in search engines. Advanced SEO services are also available for businesses looking for more in-depth strategies.

How can I set up email marketing on my site?

We integrate Kit (formerly ConvertKit) for email signups and marketing automation. This includes setting up email sign-up forms and pop-ups, auto email –> blog feature, plus a full walkthrough of the system so you can manage it with confidence.

Do you provide social media integration?

Yes! We can link your website to your social media pages and add social sharing buttons.

What are the best ways to drive traffic to my website?

Some of the best ways to increase traffic include SEO optimization, email marketing, blogging, and leveraging social media. We offer services to help with each of these.

Do you offer Google Business Profile setup?

Yes! We can optimize your Google Business Profile to help you appear in local searches.
