Read on my website – Read Time: 4 Minutes

I recently listened to a podcast (I listen to a ton) by Amy Porterfield, and she was talking about how “Perfection is the enemy of Good-Enough”.
It got me thinking about how often we hold ourselves back—on the farm, in business, even in everyday life—because things don’t feel quite ready.
We wait for the perfect time, the perfect idea, or the perfect system before we take action.
But here’s the truth: good enough is the goal.
If you’ve ever tried starting a new project on the farm, you know what I mean. Fencing never goes exactly to plan. The structures we build, be it a chicken tractor or garden shed, are rarely as square as we want.
And getting that first email newsletter or farm website out into the world? It’ll probably feel rough around the edges. That’s normal.
Too many good ideas stay stuck in neutral because we think they need to be perfect before we put them out there.
But the farms that grow—just like the businesses that grow—are the ones that start with what they have and improve as they go.
I’ve built websites with typos, sent emails with the wrong link, and published blog posts I wasn’t totally confident in. And you know what? They still worked.
Because done beats perfect every time.
So if you’re thinking about launching a new product, starting your farm store, or finally getting that website up—don’t wait.
Start with “good enough.” You can always tweak and improve. But nothing grows if it stays in your head.
Your farm, your story, and your message are worth sharing—even before everything is perfect.
Until next time.

with my appreciation,
Jason
